Ad Lib: Advocacy for LibrariesNovember 14, 2006 Looking To the FutureThe dust from the midterm elections is still settling, and that can only mean one thing… It’s time to start thinking about 2008! If you can’t wait to keep track with the races that the next election year will see, there’s a new tool out there for you: the 2008 Race Tracker, a wiki designed to track campaigns—Gubernatorial, House, or Senate (and presumably, though it’s not yet listed, Presidential)—from across the country. If you want to find out something about a campaign—or, more importantly, if you have some information to share—this is a good place for it. What type of information is on this site? Well, right now you can get a sense of who is speculated to challenge Dick Durbin for the Illinois Senate seat (names include Republicans John Shimkus, Mark Kirk, and Bill Brady). There’s no info yet on Illinois’s seats in the House, so keep an eye on that page. As 2008 gets closer, I imagine this will turn out to be an increasingly useful site. posted by Alan at 2:18 pm | Comments (0)
