Ad Lib: Advocacy for LibrariesJune 15, 2007 Preparing for the Off SeasonIf you’ve been to National Library Legislative Day in D.C., you’re probably familiar with the advocacy workshops of Stephanie Vance. Vance, founder of the Advocacy Guru consulting service, has contributed to the successful training sessions ALA offers every year, and her presentations are always a pure delight: fun, informative, and accessible. She doesn’t limit herself to NLLD, though; she offers advocacy webinars throughout the year through her Advocacy Guru site. And she’s got one coming up that could be particularly useful for library advocates: Preparing for the August Recess: Ideas to Engage Advocates in In-District Advocacy: Although it seems a little ways off, now is the time to start thinking about engaging advocates during the August recess. We’ll discuss ideas and resources for creating winning in-district events. This webinar is next week, June 19 at 2 p.m., so if it’s something you think could help your library, you should sign up sooner rather than later! posted by Alan at 11:26 am | Comments (0)
