New Treasures at the Library

Another NSLS blogger brought this article to my attention! You never know what’s under that paint! The Wilton Public-Gregg Free Library in New Hampshire has discovered wonderfully stenciled and painted walls under the current paint.

I just love when such hidden treasures are unearthed and worry about those that aren’t brought into the light, so to speak. This just reinforces how all institutions, as well as individuals, need to make sure to record their history in an accessible way and review it every 5 years or so! Of course, at the time, I’m sure they thought it was ugly and quaint, but now it’s a treasure. Interesting how these things go, isn’t it?
