The Allen County Public Library (ACPL), Brigham Young University Harold B. Lee Library, and FamilySearch’s Family History Library announced a joint digitization project. In the feeds today, I ran across his post about Online Gazetteers of Poland – very very useful! He even tells you how to navigate them. Folks, if you aren’t reading his blog and you’re doing Polish research, you really should. There’s a lot of great info on it… posted by Kay at 11:03 am | Comments (0) Using Flickr with Your Digitization ProjectA co-worker mentioned the National Library of New Zealand’s Flickr site to me today (thanks, Ian!). They are posting images from their collections of maps/photos/illustrations. They make it very clear that permission must be granted before reuse is possible and they also post a comment directing people to their website. This is a really neat new approach to making things more available and to showcase your digital collections. I think we’ll see a lot more of this type of thing in the months/years to come. posted by Kay at 10:57 am | Comments (0)
