The Book’s The ThingThe Book’s The ThingOctober 12, 2006 National Book Award 2006 FinalistsFrom ShelfAwareness: Poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti, co-founder of City Lights Books, San Francisco, announced the finalists of the National Book Awards yesterday at his store; the winners will be named and honored in New York City on November 15. Each winner receives $10,000 and a statue; each finalist receives $1,000 and a medal.
